I had a busy but great weekend and I wanted to share with you a great recipe for spiced apple cider. It’s great to double for a party and store in a carafe or slow cooker to keep warm.
2 quarts of apple cider
1 tsp whole cloves
1 tsp whole allspice
2 cinnamon sticks
1/2 cup brown sugar (or less if you don’t want it sweet)
dash of salt
8 shots of rum (optional-I prefer Captain Morgan)
Bring to a boil and simmer for 30 minutes…remove spices and add rum if using it.
NOTE: be sure not to simmer more than 30 minutes because the spices will break down and make it difficult to remove.
I am going to make this today and serve it with pumpkin bread…
